Houston Police Chief Charles A. McClelland, Jr. and members of HPD joined religious leaders today for a special “Day of Prayer” service outside the front entrance of HPD Headquarters.
The annual prayer service is an observance of National Police Week dedicated to remembering officers who have given their lives in the line of duty to help make our lives safer.
It is during Police Week that we remember and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in safety and peace.
Motorists are encouraged to drive with their headlights on this week in remembrance of those officers.
